Two men from Normal are facing multiple felony charges in connection with fraudulent applications for loan forgiveness.
Maylon R. Tate III has been charged with four counts of forgery, which are Class 3 felonies; two instances of wire fraud, also considered as Class 3 felonies; one allegation of theft of an amount ranging from $10,000 to $100,000, a Class 2 felony; and another allegation of theft of a similar amount, a Class 1 felony.

On the other hand, his son, Maylon R. Tate IV, is facing charges of eight instances of forgery, which are Class 3 felonies; four counts of wire fraud as Class 3 felonies; two allegations for theft ranging from $10,000 and $100,000, which are Class 2 felonies; and two similar allegations of theft, categorized as Class 1 felonies.

During their first court appearance last week, they were arraigned having been indicted by a grand jury in McLean County on Jan. 31. According to the court documents, Tate IV was accused of providing false documentation for Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loan forgiveness for two separate loans in March, April, and August of 2021. On the other hand, Tate III was charged with fraudulently filing for PPP loan forgiveness in March and August of the same year.

Trisha L. Hanke, aged 36, faces a Class 2 felony charge for allegedly stealing over $10,000. According to court documents, she is claimed to have knowingly taken $14,000 from her employer at the time, Love’s Travel Stop in LeRoy.
William B. Givens
49-year old William B. Givens, whose address was not provided, is facing an array of charges. These encompass illegal possession of five to 15 grams of meth intended for distribution and two counts of possessing meth for private use, which are both Class 2 felonies. After being restrained, he allegedly commenced to kick LeRoy Police Chief Jason Williamson. His bond has been set at $150,000 with 10% allowable cash bond. His next court date is on July 28 at 10 a.m.

Antonia Lewellen, the final person indicted, faces counts for unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, a Class 2 Felony, two counts of aggravated discharge of a firearm, Class 1 felonies, and one count of aggravated battery involving a firearm, a Class X felony. The charges emanate from a March 2022 incident where, after a drug deal spiraled out of control, Lewellen fired shots at the dealers before fleeing. She is being held with bail set at $500,000 with 10% to apply. Her next court appearance is slated for July 28 at 9 a.m..
Brittany N. Greiner, a 26-year-old woman, stands accused of two counts of severe assault (Class 2 felony) and two counts of obstructing a law enforcement officer (Class A misdemeanor).
