Authorities in Toronto are actively seeking two individuals suspected of swindling a senior couple, using a credit card scam where they posed as police officers.

According to an official statement, the elderly duo received a call in January from an imposter who claimed to be a police officer. The impostor led the couple to believe fraudulent activity occurred on their credit cards and persuaded them to hand the cards over for investigation.

The targets were made to believe a courier would come to collect the credit cards and were also coerced into revealing their PINs.

Law enforcement has disclosed that the scam artists managed to receive the cards from the couple’s residence around the area of Wellesley Street East and Sumach Street. They then used the cards to rack up charges amounting to $13,000.

Description of the Suspects

The male suspect is reportedly of a large build, with a full beard and loose hair. He was spotted wearing a black Toronto Raptors cap, a black and grey Nike sweatshirt, grey tracksuit bottoms, a brown jacket, and grey puffy slippers paired with white socks.

The female suspect is depicted as slim with long black hair, seen in a grey hooded sweatshirt and matching sweats.

Authorities are sharing this information publicly as they believe there may be additional victims out there. They are urging anyone with information to reach out.

The suspects are described as a woman of slim build with black hair, and a man with a heavy build, a dense beard and flowing dark hair.
