Every day, the IRS is inundated with scam emails passed along by alarmed taxpayers. Among the countless tax-related frauds in existence, those involving employee retention tax credits and supposed “stimulus” payouts seem to be topping the list in frequency.

“We continue to be bombarded by these seasonal scams targeting taxpayers,” according to IRS Commissioner Danny Werfel in a recent statement, adding, “Taxpayers are incessantly inundated with these fraudulent email and text messages.”
